Thank You For The Rain

Join the Movement

There are many ways to fight climate change, but one thing is certain: there's power in numbers. On this page we will present a selection of important campaigns and actions that need your support. Join the movement today!

While the Paris Agreement set out ambitious goals to limit climate change, there are few enforcement mechanisms in place to ensure that the cuts are actually being taken. That means that civil society must keep a check on their governments. As citizens, we can do this by supporting NGOs, signing petitions, writing to our elected officials, or protesting. Every voice is needed!

CLIMATE STRIKE

In August 2018, Greta Thunberg began striking for the climate. On 15 March 2019, an estimated number of 1.4 million students around the world joined her call in the striking and protesting. The next major climate strike to take place globally is scheduled on 24 May 2019.

SAVE THE ARCTIC

The Arctic acts as a refrigerator for the rest of the world, but it is warming up at twice the rate of the rest of the planet. Still, oil companies want to start drilling for more oil in this vulnerable area. Sign this campaign to ask world leaders to create a global sanctuary in the uninhabited area around the North Pole, and to ban oil drilling and destructive fishing in Arctic waters.

GO FOSSIL FREE

Divestment is a powerful instrument to halt climate change. This global campaign puts pressure on institutions and funds to divest from fossil fuels, and reinvest in renewable resources. So far it has seen great results; hundreds of institutions around the world are committing to move their money out of the fossil fuel industry.

WOMEN'S CALL FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE

Women often face higher risks and greater burdens from the impacts of climate change – especially in situations of poverty. This campaign calls for the involvement of women in decision-making on climate change.
